I need Lounge vibes - one of my kitties has gone missing!

I'm having some major remodeling done at the back of my house, so I'm using the front door all the time now. The screen door doesn't always latch, but I forgot about this because I usually use the back door. Anyhow, I went out the front door to get something from the garage and ended up talking to one of the carpenters for about 15 minutes. On my way back to the front of the house I noticed that Milo was outside, sitting in the garden, so I picked him up and took him back in - realizing that the front door hadn't latched.

But then I couldn't find Pixie anywhere in the house. She must have slipped out with Milo, and now I can't find her. I've looked under the porch, under the bushes, all around the house and the neighbors' houses.

What really makes me sick is that, although the cats all have collars with their name tags with my phone number, I'd taken them off to brush them (the cats) and get new collars for them. The next visit they were going to be microchipped, though they are all indoor cats. But now Pixie is outside without any identification and she's not used to being outside, though she often tries to slip out.

She can't have gone too far, but she's most likely hiding somewhere. And I worry about cars and dogs, and if someone finds her they won't know where she lives. All I can do is hope she finds her way back.

Is there an especially stinky food that is her absolute favorite treat? Can you put a bowl of that outside the door? Lure that little minx in and snag her!

Right now I'm all upset, which is stupid since she's been missing only for a couple of hours, but she's not an outdoor cat and I'm afraid she won't be able to find her way home. I feel just awful that I didn't get around to putting her collar back on (not that she would likely let anyone catch her).

Walk around rattling it, whether it's a bag or tupperware. She will be programmed to come running.

I love that little kitty, but it wasn't me. I agree with everyone, put stinky food outside the door. Also, print up some missing kitty signs if she isn't back by dinner. Best vibes that Pixie makes her way back home by dinner and don't be hard on yourself, it doesn't do anybody any good.

Our cat managed to get herself trapped in a crawlspace under the house even with taking all precautions, when we were finishing the floor on a carport room.

It appears that the little monster was hiding somewhere in the house the entire time! And I can't imagine where that could have been because half of the house is walled off under construction (no way for her to get into that area) and the other half - well, there just isn't anyplace to hide. Except that she did. I was upstairs hanging a towel rack in the bathroom and out of the corner of my eye I caught a small, cat-shaped blur scurry by that wasn't the right color to be either of the others. And she'd obviously just come up the stairs. I whooped and hugged her and she looked at me like, "What???" And now she's just wandering around looking for some mischief to get into. But where the hell was she all day??

No matter. She's back and I'm happy. I think the Lounge vibes teleported her back from whatever alternate universe she'd slipped into, so thank you!

My former cat, Max, was a scaredy-kitty who ran from everyone but me. One day when a hi-fi distributor came over to set something up I realized after he left that I hadn't seen him for hours. Just as I was about to head upstairs I heard a pathetic, unhappy meow. I had to search most of the basement before I found Max in the old pump room under the back step. He'd managed to get himself wedged between some stereo equipment boxes and the wall of the pump room and couldn't get out. Good thing he kept meowing or I'd never have found him. So I took out some of the boxes and fished him out. He shot upstairs like a rocket.

Last night I let one cat outside. Because of crap in the way and locks on the doors I can only get them only far enough for one cat at a time and I was specifically worried about this cat because it was sick and the dogs were bothering it.

I looked up and there were two cats outside.

On edit, I should point out that this is an attempt at herding cats.

I glad Pixie is safe. I was betting she might still be inside. The little stinker!

I had one go up a chimney. This was a cat that was on meds, and was afraid of everyone except his own humans. He eventually wound up in the attic. I was never able to get a hold of him to give him his pills, but fortunately, this occurred a couple of days before his humans were to return. We both survived the ordeal, although I was afraid I wouldn't at one point. On top of stressing out over him, his "sister" bolted outside for the afternoon when I went to check for a possible entrance to the backside of the chimney. (It's an old house.) I came back a few hours later, and she was waiting to be let inside for dinner, fortunately.

j/k I'm glad she turned up.

Actually, I know that cold fear when a cat goes missing. I had one of mine go missing for a couple of days and I was beside myself with worry until he turned up.

Give her a big hug for me.

3 hours to notice he wasn't in the house so I understand how you feel. I was so worried but found him hiding under a bush several houses down. I think the traffic spooked him.

If Pixie has never been outside might I suggest that you take old slippers or articles of unwashed clothing of yours and leave them around your building so Pixie can identify the scent which is how cats identify their homes.

Perhaps buying ready grown cat grass and also putting that outside will grab Pixie's attention.

She was in the house all the time, but in a parallel universe so I couldn't locate her.

The vibes sucked her back to this universe. I'm happy now.
