So I was in a mood for romantic movie and saw "Bridges of Madison County" yesterday...

Such a great movie. I paid the $3.00 to rent it for 24 hours and was sad at the ending.

Clint and Meryl were so great in it. He directed it and wrote the title song entitled "Doe Eyes."

Sigh...Francesca and Robert slow dancing in her kitchen...

and I thought Bridges was a complete travesty (I did not watch the movie because the premise was sickening) and the book one of the worst I have ever read but I stumbled upon PS I Love You one night and cried my silly eyes out and loved it.

I found a friend on FB, he was an old friend, who also loved that movie. We talked about it a few times until he died recently. Now it makes me even sad too but I do love that movie.

His politics, not so much, but at least he's no racist from everything I've read or seen from him.

if you've ever seen the movie "Gran Torino".

What a story. My favorite Eastwood movie. I liked it so much better than Million Dollar Baby, which won all the awards.

I've never quite gotten 'into it.'

P.S. Yesterday on PBS saw a promo-$money maker re: Perry Como! What a doll! Always loved his singing, was popular when I was growing up (even tho he was #1 in the year I was born!) What a voice! What lovely demeanor!

Here's an example:

for 4H. Neither my wife nor I appreciated the book or the movie that glories adultery. My father-in-law taught at the same university with Robert Waller the author. He was no fan either.

My friend and saw it together and laughed through the whole thing at the hokey dialogue, like this gem:

"This kind of certainty comes but just once in a lifetime."

PEOPLE DON'T TALK LIKE THAT!!!

We decided Francesca should have sewn her wild oats when she was young and single. There's nothing tragic about staying in a good marriage instead of running off with a traveling photographer that she's known for a few days. But the film was wildly popular, so I guess there are a lot of people suffering from the romantic version of "the grass is always greener." Ugh

well that and the silly dialog.

I had a husband who cheated. It was a matter of having cash in his pocket and a huge ego that needed filled while I was home raising our children. Nope, nothing there too glorify. You either stuck it out or leave. Just MNSHO having been there.

I guess I can understand.... well no not really.

We couldn't keep it in stock.

I've never read it. It was so popular among the never-reads-a-book crowd, that I was convinced it was crap.
