I did not know that!

My three year old iPad gave up the ghost last week. I had intended to purchase a replacement at Costco like I did the one I was retiring. The cashier lines were ridiculous so I decided to suck it up and get the new on at the Apple store 1/2 mile away even though it would cost $10.00 more.

Not wanting to have another iPad in a drawer (I still have a first gen.) I asked the sales guy if they could recycle the one I was replacing. I fully expected to just give it to Apple if they wanted it.

He said they could use it for parts and non-usable components would be repurposed. He then told me that Apple would discount my new tablet by $120.00 if I gave them the old one.

So, instead of saving ten bucks I saved $120.00. That’ll buy two bottles of Lagavulin at Costco! 🥃

Best Buy sucks! I was going to buy my first iPad from them. I asked if they could help me set it up and was told they could for $100.00. Needless to say I haven’t been back.

College Kids are just plain Broke most of the Time.

Bummer on Best Buy,if one is a Apple User, you have to go to the Apple Stores. Fortunately we have four to chose from.

Apple Give Back
Turn the device you have into the one you want.

Trade in your eligible device for an Apple Store Gift Card.1 If it’s not eligible for credit, we’ll recycle it for free. No matter the model or condition, we can turn it into something good for you and good for the planet.

There's also a link to have them send a pre-paid shipping label for you to send to recycling for those units that they don't give a trade-in value.
