...supervised by the always stern faced Sister M..

My sister-in-law plays the organ and asked Sister M.'s permission to play a little background music while we worked.

Sister M agreed and my sister-in-law began with Bohemian Rhapsody.

Sister M turned to me and asked, "That's pretty, what is it?"

I'll never know if Sister M. was entirely innocent of popular culture or if she was just yanking my chain.



I was already terrified that our wedding was likely to go horribly wrong. My grandma was a crazy bag-lady-with-a-pension who was always apt to say the meanest most inappropriate things at the worst possible moments, and my mom was at the time ghost writing a book for someone who had been abused within the church.
