(8,201 posts)He stayed for several weeks before I took him in. No one in my neighborhood had seen him before, and no one responded to the flyers I put up or my social media posts. He had clearly been someone's baby as he was very friendly, but he had also been out for a while and was thin. He was probably younger than a year and hadn't been neutered yet, which is most likely how he ended up lost.
Anyway, he's been with me now for about three years, and he really is different from other cats. Smart, playful, devoted, snuggly, nonplussed to be out walking on a harness. If you ever get the opportunity to have a Siamese, go for it!

(17,000 posts)wondering when they are 6 months old. They smell a female in heat and off they go. Glad your buddy found a good home.

(22,250 posts)He was a joy! He was also a good adult mentor to the young kittens who came along later.

Of all my 8+ kitties, my two rescued Siameses were my favorites.
My father found one wandering in garbage cans at a local market and drove 40 miles to bring her to my apartment forty-something yrs ago. She was thin, staving, and had tapeworms. She was my constant companion for 17+yrs.
My 2nd Siamese was only a tiny, half-Siamese kitten when a neighbor brought him to me. I simply just lucked-out to have had two ppl bring me stray Siamese kitties?!! This little fellow grew up to be the smartest cat I've ever known. I miss them both.
Yes, folks, I was known as one of those crazy cat people. (I have 2 great Labs now but no kitties because of hub's allergies.)

(17,000 posts)that has a lot of Siamese traits. His front legs are a little shorter than his back legs and he has that distinctive Siamese voice. Recently, he has decided to practice his scales at 3:00am. He is really pushing the limits of my goodwill.

(28,117 posts)I love love love their squawky voices and their must-have-the-last-word attitude. They'll always gladly talk to you.

(969 posts)Very intelligent, very affectionate, and very vocal. Often very loudly vocal, supposedly the breed capable of producing the loudest volume.
I've had a few over my lifetime, and treasured them all. My wife "came with one", an older female that had been given to her 16 years before. She 'recommended' me to my then-girlfriend, which kind of sealed the deal. She was already impressed that I could cook, but having the "OK" of the cat was the final thing.
I really miss having one around. Maybe the next furball we rescue will be another, I hope.

(28,117 posts)one tends to compare every other cat to them. They spoil us forever, although I loved all my babies.

(115,661 posts)He's a gray tabby but he's long and lanky (though a bit tubby now), has a long nose and big ears, and he's got the loudest, squalliest meow I've ever heard. It's not even a "meow," it's more like a low-pitched, gravelly "WAAAWW!" And it's loud. My god, it's loud. He's the loudest cat ever.
Another of my three is definitely part Siamese; she has slightly-crossed blue eyes and dark points on her ears, though not elsewhere, but her meow is just a tiny little trill.

(28,117 posts)But if we weren't up by 7:30am, weekends, she had a funny little trick....
I swear she did this...somehow she knew we didn't wanna be bothered, so she'd hop onto the dresser, put her paw into my little hairpin box, and loudly stir the pins around, then peek at us. She'd do it again, then peek again. Are you awake now?
