Just because I bought something from you, doesn't mean

I want to be your best friend.

Don't you hate when you buy something online and then that place starts sending you daily emails.

Hey I wanted a coffee maker, not a relationship.

Yeah I unsubscribe, but not until I get the order.

it doesn't mean you wanted me to post in it. But here I am, edhopper. I'm your new best friend!

P.S. I agree with your OP. I have "unsubscribed" to many a marketing email after completing a transaction with various companies.

7. Never sell your old car to anybody you know

If the car breaks, they will blame you for selling them a lemon.

If you know how to fix cars, they will be over at your house constantly wanting you to fix it for free.

I would donate my vehicle to NPR before I would sell it to a friend.

12. Same for old computers

For several years we were rebuilding old computers and giving them away to people who could not afford to buy one. Most of the old computers had belonged to family members who had upgraded but didn't want to trash their old mostly functional computers. I didn't mind a few requests for repairs, but when one of my husband's friends expected us to also provide paper and ink for the printer we'd thrown in I quit working with the old computers completely.

It was great experience while it lasted. I learned to build my own computers and do my own tech support, but I have moved on from there.
