(29,194 posts)I just finished (or almost finished) the following:
1. Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (Australian... set in 1927 or 1928) Found it due to another posting here.
2. Midsomer Murders - set in contemporary times... but in "Midsomer" England... a fictional bit of Oxfordshire and filmed there... very rich pictures of rural English Village life (but with murders of course) http://www.visitmidsomer.com/
3. Dr. Blake Mysteries - set in 1958 again in Australia near Melbourne. Just started this one.
My favorite so far is the Miss Fisher mysteries... real chemistry between the leads.

Foyle's War (Acorn) British Inspector gets caught up investigating crime during WWII and often coming up against the moral dilemmas that war creates.
Both worth a look.

(621 posts)I hear they are the resistance. Actually, arent we the resistance? Okay, not Im not sure. You could rent a car, but remember The Alamo. Maybe go with Hertz. Wait, maybe also a bad idea. Thrifty? Thrifty is the exact opposite of tax and spend, which is the exact opposite of us, so Thrifty should be safe.

(3,622 posts)We'll pencil you in for second shift...
3:00 to 11:00 pm.
You'll get paid $200.00 in shift differential over and above $1,500.00 George Soros is paying for the 8 hours.
We're still negotiating terms on the uniform maintenance allowance.
