(9,259 posts)A July 4 tradition here, we get back from our community concert band event (fireworks & patriotic crap) just in time. I played in the pit orchestra for a college production eons ago. The movie stays quite true to the stage version.

their predecessor's portrayals in the film, especially the song "Cool, Cool, Considerate Men"...I find that number remarkably telling about today's "conservatives". I guess that was the idea as a more contemporary play/film...

(130,865 posts)It was fought on August 27, 1776 and was the first major battle of the American Revolutionary War to take place after the United States declared its independence on July 4, 1776. It was a victory for the British Army and the beginning of a successful campaign that gave them control of the strategically important city of New York. Regarding troop deployment and fighting, it was the largest battle of the entire war.
