Probably because the local fireworks displays aren't happening until the 7th. A lot of the stuff going off tonight is probably illegal.

right next to me, while I'm on the CPU, and I have given them bones and treats, got the TVs going as loud as I can get them, and otherwise, keeping them reassured. It'll be over before you know it.

No fireworks from me, though...

Tonight it’s still early but they are getting ready with limited blasts

It felt like a war going on last night. I suspect tonight will be worst. Lot of aggression out there.

My cat was traumatized last night.

between my feet. She hates loud noises (fireworks, thunder, and so on). It will be a long night.

But just as I thought that, a new spate of explosions started up.

Every night for the last week it has rained between sunset and eleven - but not tonight,damn it. It rained a little before sunset but just enough to keep the humidity up.

At least my horses and the cats are used to explosions between the fireworks at any excuse and the neighbor with the firing range in his back twenty, next to my lower pastures. The house cat doesn't seem to notice the fireworks anymore - he may be going deaf.
