Need some help! Been watching The Five on Netflix. MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! I swear I've seen

a series with a near identical plot line: Young boy disappears in woods after being chased off by older kids. After missing for a couple of decades his DNA is recovered at a crime scene.

Any ideas?

...or maybe X-Files? or Cold Case? Would that make more sense than an entire series devoted to the idea?

Missing for a decade, a politician's young son, Adam Warren, was presumed to be dead. When Adam suddenly makes a shocking return, he is at first greeted with astonishment and joy. As the young man is welcomed back into the family, suspicions begin to emerge about his true identity, and long-buried secrets, heartache and betrayals are brought to the surface. Oscar-nominee Joan Allen stars as Adam's mother, Claire, who found a way to turn the disappearance of her son into fuel for her political aspirations. Now that Adam has returned, Claire struggles to keep her imploding family together as the election for governor heats up.

Great actors. It is a very bleak, harsh plot, but it all delivers in the end

Updated: You're right. There is another show with the same plot. I will look at my viewing history to see if I can find it.

I sign up for short sprints to see Doc Martin, and then I binge watch everything before closing the account again. I'm not a member right now so it will be hard to look up.
