I'm a voracious reader and I like to watch Netflix. YouTube comedy standups save my sanity. On Netflix, you can watch Marc Maron's "Too Real". I've watched it more than once.

YouTube, Netflix to my TV.

Netflix recently added a very good 6 part series called “The Horn”. It is about a medical evac company in Switzerland. Beautiful scenery, with it being 110° + here...watching a show with lots of snow is nice.

I watched Who Do You Think You Are? last night and learned about Alfre Woodard's great grandfather. I've seen Cosmos with Neil DeGrasse Tyson 3 times. I love astronomy documentaries.

On YouTube, since I love British comedians, I watch stand up clips by Bill Bailey (he does Scarborough Fair in the style of Ramstein!), Jimmy Carr, the Two Ronnies (fork handles!), the TV shows Would I Lie to You and QI 3 times each.

I've binge watched West Wing, House, James Bond and Harry Potter movies. Hell, even Hogan's Heroes.

There are lots of instructional videos on there. I like the ones from the Missouri Star Quilt Company. To disclose: I also shop there sometimes. A great quilt store, and they sell fabric online.

There are also quilt stores around that offer classes. I learned from a quilter co-worker who gave lunchtime classes at my workplace. She later bought a quilt store.

It’s very easy, and, for me, an excellent source of relaxation.

Good luck!

They usually love to have newbies quilt along. Modern quilting is doing some awesome stuff, works of art worthy of a museum. I know several artists who have taken it up. Not like grandma any more.

They are puzzles...........Rated from 1 to 4 in terms of easy vs difficult.....You do one, and then another and so on...or, after one, you can stop. Once you get started on one of kinda difficult ones, you really have a desire to finish and complete it. then, go on to another...

I took a trip to Japan..from where I live 13 hours. So I played Sudoku for about half the time going. Keeps ones mind busy..

I usually watch TV of some sort while doing needlework and genealogy. It used to be news or whatever I could find on cable/satellite/PrismTV. Now with streaming I have much better options at the times I want to watch stuff.

Needlework is my zen hobby. It lowers my blood pressure and I can concentrate on it no matter what is going on.

This is the first year of a deliberately planned pollinator garden, but I have other areas that are more established. I watched a bumblebee tonight going hard at one of my flowers. I see all kinds of other bees, moths, butterflies, and others flying all over I wish butterflies weren't so hard to identify, even with pictures. Like others, Netflixing a lot also.

Peace

more recent works than in the last 10 years or so. i've been working in watercolors, pastels and colored pencils, mediums i haven't used in a long time. simple stuff that makes me and my family happy- birds, flowers, landscapes of places we've been or currently visiting. etsy store in the works under pressure from said family- i've never sold any of my "art" so doubt that will become viable. keeps me sane though.

that, and lots of beer and weed!

I watch my recording of All the President's Men whenever I start to gasp and choke from all the political upchuck I see on TV, and the movie clears it all away for a while. On nights that I have insomnia and fantasize about going to Washington D.C. and...and...um, giving trump a good talking to, the movie lulls me to sleep.
