I saw my first grandchild today.

He was a bit premature - 1 lb. 12 oz. (794 grams)

His feet are less than 1-1/2 in. long.

It's been an up and down fourteen days.

Since yesterday, he gained 30 grams. He's now 1 lb 10 oz.

Being that he's in an incubator,
none of his family has been able to hold him yet.

Amazing what modern medicine is able to do.

Fifty years ago the baby would have not been given much of a chance. Today, he stands a great chance.

Our first grandchild was born two months ago today. A new chapter of a lot of lives begins on days like that!
