Anyone play HQ Trivia?

I've been at it for just about a week, and was thrilled I made it to Question 9 tonight, but seriously bummed I didn't know what element was furthest to the right in the Table of Elements.

Running through Tom Lehrer's lyrics in my head in under ten seconds didn't help.

OK, based on the references to a couple of questions here, doubt I'd get past question #1. Fla Dem Jul 2018 #7

It's top upper right on the table, but I'm not a smart person, so I'd never listen to me! 😂

...such as, "What does water do at 32°F? Freeze? Turn sentient...? That was an actual Q a couple of nights ago (can't remember what the third choice was). Believe it or not, something like 8,000 people were eliminated on that one. (There are usually more than half a million people playing at the start.)

It's not all "savage" questions; a lot depends on your areas of trivia expertise. For instance, I knew that a "noisy ghost" is a "poltergeist" (and not a "banshee" or a "spectre" ) -- but that question knocked out a full half of the remaining players (around 80,000 people, IIRC).

It helps if you're up on current pop culture (not my thing, but I have to know some of that stuff because of the work I do), as does a good grasp of the day's political goings-on.

So, try it! It really is fun (if occasionally frustrating), it's free, and there's not a big time investment -- each game lasts only a few minutes. And you can win real money -- although, since the payout is aggregate, it might only be a dollar or two. But a buck's a buck.

Hqtrivia.com redirects right to the Android app on Google Play. I'm using it, and it checks out clean on my phone.

(I don't know if there's an iOS app, or if there's a way to do it on a real, live computer.)

Come play with us, Danny... er, rurallib! ;D

Just found out Peter Thiel is one of the latest round of investors. I'd rather sleep in a gutter than take one dime of his filthy money.

I've uninstalled the HQTrivia app.
