Famous TV shows and movies that you know nothing about?

I have heard of these shows but I have never watched an episode.

Greys Anatomy
Modern Family
How I Met Your Mother
ER
The West Wing
NCIS (Any of them)
CIS (Any of them)

Anybody else have some popular tv shows or famous films that they haven't seen?

It was excellent, though it will make you wistful (even more so) for a "sane" Presidency.

I think Modern Family is funny and ER is a true classic. I never liked "How I Met Your Mother" for some reason. It was probably the voice-overs that bug me. Greys Anatomy is supercilious and should have gone away some time ago, IMO, though its first couple of years were ok. It seems they have "killed off" or otherwise lost all the more interesting characters.

I'm not sure why because I like Martin Sheen. My mother loves it.

I'm near the beginning of the fifth season. You're right, it does make me wish we had a sane president, though President Bartlet does have his moments of irrationality.

police authority throughout the country and throughout the world-- no jurisdictional issues, whatsoever.

The premise was just too ridiculous.

Gave up on it a couple of years ago. If I do watch deliberately, it is usually PBS's Create. Sometimes I will watch an old favorite TV show on DVD. I hear people talking about various shows, but I have no idea what they are about. Of the ones you list, I watched a few of them here and there in the past.

Entourage
Big Brother
Curb Your Enthusiasm

For those who have not seen West Wing: what are you waiting for?! A written invitation? I finally got hubby to watch the first couple of episodes on Netflix - and he spent the rest of the next few weeks binge watching the rest. He is picky as hell when it comes to TV and movies so I was very happy that he enjoyed it so much.

I haven't watched any of those shows but I have heard of them. I have never watched Big Brother, Survivor or the Bachelor either.

Yes, I know I need to watch The West Wing one of these days. I don't have a tv and dvd player. I usually watch stuff on Netflix on my computer.

My wife loved the show. And the main character was from Puyallup, Washington, my home.

But I refused to watch it. Jim Caviezel, who grew up around here and can pronounce 'Puyallup' correctly, is the most boring actor on the planet. I'd rather watch wet paint dry. I call him "Actor Of No Interest".

Dorothy Parker's quip about Katherine Hepburn applies: he runs the gamut of human emotion from A to B.

Megan Boone on The Blacklist is the same. You could put a cardboard cutout in her place and nobody would know the difference.

Still, I really enjoyed Person of Interest. The rest of the characters performed brilliantly. Taraji P. Henson can make eating a sandwich in a car interesting. Michael Emerson could stand there dejected and be threatening at the same time. He was like Peter Lorre in that way.

But it was the writing and especially the later seasons but I loved Carter, Root, and Shaw. Guest actors were great in it. As far as him I think he played the part well it probably couldn't have worked without him. Plus there was a lot of stuff ripped from the headlines like when he saves that bit coin drug kingpin played by Jimmi Simpson.

Any show that I know to be famous is a show I know something about.

I've never seen Thrones but it's talked about here so I have a very general idea about it.

I watched one episode of West Wing and couldn't get into it.

I think the only series I've watched in recent years is Parks and Recreation and Mad Men. I've watched a few Colombian novelas start to finish. I will watch docuseries if they are interesting.
