Brief encounter with Robert Reich last night

He was waiting for the check at the same restaurant my group was leaving, and my friend and I assumed it was okay to approach him and his party. We simply thanked him for being the voice the sanity and expressed appreciation for his efforts. He nodded and thanked us in return. 10 seconds total. But it made my day.

2. He's actually a pretty nice guy in person

Whether or not you agree with all his positions is another matter, of course, but hey, I sometimes hang with Richard Viguerie, which has to be THE ultimate in "opposition research (he feels the same way about me, by the way)."

3. Sure are nice in person. Politicking is a dirty business however.

I wouldn't give Reich the opportunity to show his "nice " side.
He is dirty whether he's eating dinner, or sleeping, or vomiting bull shit against the strength of our society.

No thanks

6. You think he's bad

Try looking up Richard Viguerie. I read his posts and feel like blowing up the building he's in and everyone else in there along with him. Talk about vomiting bullshit! The man is a total nut case, positively radioactive. Richard wrote the book (several, in fact). It's an unfortunate fact of politics that some people whose politics you hate turn out to be nice, and some people whose politics you love are not. I got my illusions on that shattered fairly early. One of my teenage heroes, Sen. Morse of Oregon, who was an anti-Vietnam war crusader in the mid sixties, turned out to be a total asshole when I met him in the Senate. Another guy I was set to slit his throat if ever I met him, Sen. Jim Buckley (Bill's brother) of New York, turned out to be a wonderfully pleasant guy.

Sometimes, their personal nature just refuses to jive with how you expect to perceive them when you meet them in person. Welcome to Washington.

8. Thank you. I am in total agreement as to the loathsomeness of those mentioned.

However, I'm leaving the blowing up & throat slitting alone, tho I get the depth of despise towards them.

I would be more the type to drop a full sloppy plate on their laps & shoes of those $$$$ millionaire corrupt filthy bull shitiin traitors.

5. That's how little I think of his "policies" cough cough

He has earned that lack of respect.

He's just another rich white guy stumping for
Himself.
Anyone else may treat him as they wish.

Why the level of hatred?

I've watched and read a lot of his stuff, and he seems okay to me.
