More on the morning dog walker who trespasses. Spoiler: The motion sensor irrigater worked.

So yesterday she just edged her way on the property with her dog, keeping to the corner as she crossed my yard to take a short cut that doesn't make any sense. Her actions did not set off any of my sensors, outside of the security cameras.

I didn't expect her to repeat the behavior for a week or more, which is more to her pattern. But today, she allowed her dog to run point, venturing deeper into the property while she stood near the road. She allowed the dog to walk the full extent of the leash up my driveway, where the poor thing got the full force of my motion sensing irrigater.

The reaction was predictable. She jumped, and the dog retreated quickly. Success, but I'm sure it won't be a long-lasting victory. Tomorrow I expect her to come wearing a bathing suit. This is just too too established as a long-term pattern to try to irritate me enough to try to get me to move out. But that isn't going to fit into our long-term goals.

This is America and there is no escape anywhere. Play the hand you're dealt.
