I was at Aldies today buying some groceries and some strawberries. I thought I might enjoy some whip cream with my strawberries but I was in a hurry and didnt really look for cream. When I came out of the store and was putting away my groceries a
young black man approached me and said, would you like this whip cream because I noticed that you have some strawberries in your bag . He gave me the decanter of whipped cream and disappeared. I barely got to say thanks!
Ok, Im old. What was I missing here?

(8,854 posts)...that a coworker told me happened to him when we worked for the now-defunct Waldenbooks years ago.
Someone called the store to see if we had a copy of Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead". My coworker, Fred, said that we did and offered to pull a copy and hold it behind the register for this customer. A few minutes later a man came in and was browsing in the area where the Ayn Rand books were. Fred approached him and asked if he was looking for The Fountainhead, the man said that he was. Fred told him that he had a copy waiting for him behind the register. Fred rings up the purchase and notices the man give him a strange look as he is leaving. A while later another man comes in and tells Fred that a copy of The Fountainhead is being held for him behind the register. Only then did Fred realize that it was merely a coincidence that the previous customer was looking for the same book and was probably freaked the hell out that Fred "knew" what was he was looking for and was reserving the book for him.
Wish I'd been there to witness all this for myself.
