Well I am continuing to watch Handmaid's tale Season 1 episode 9 coming up. The series is very chilling to watch and there continues to be similarities of what is happening here in the country to the Republic of Gilead.
found this article to explain the series.

(4,305 posts)If you think it is chilling now... There have been many times during the 2 seasons that I had to pause and walk away to wrap my head around it.

(63,849 posts)just one question about the 2nd Season, if Season 1 depicts the book pretty much, does Season 2 follow suit. Or goes into depth with each character's past and how (Gilead) all came into being?
Geez, it is awfully scary to watch I just shake my head, seems to show similarities how they hate Gays, and women and minorities to what is happening in the US.

I still keep on thinking could this happen to us with the present landscape of what is happening in our country politically. In the series we see a small group of men, a think tank to predominately take over with their ideology and their intolerance of others to promote their own ideas of society to rid of corruption and sin, and to keep women in a subservient role. Then there is Trump who is fueling these groups of white supremacists, KKK members and other groups who are embracing his way of thinking. We see this sick ideology here of those who serve the public for example Pharmacists who don't fill prescriptions of birth control due to their own religious beliefs, and those who hate the LGBT community. It is a gradual change but it's like looking into the future, of what could happen if we let it.
I just hope people wake up before it's too late excluding those who are on this site, and keep abreast of what is happening to us right now.
