(29,204 posts)it has been my mission to "de-mystify" error reporting by the software. That includes removing all "just the error code" messages to customers.
Computers should not be a priesthood where one must consult with the high priests to figure out what their computer is trying to tell them.
Is it harder to write out an English explanation... sure... but giving out an error code only because you can't be bothered to explain that the software has arrived someplace that can't recover from some situation or other and that the user might need to either get hardware fixed or not try the operation they tried or entered incorrect data or whatever is just lazy imho.
But yes, buy a Mac. I have a couple of those... a lot of Linux machines, one FreeBSD... and my laptop is running Windows.
