I absolutely adore this show. It is so calming for a competitive reality type show and everyone is just so polite and nice even when things go wrong.

(34,393 posts)It seems with US shows like Top Chef, etc., they've just got to have one or two nasty people to keep things "interesting" and to "create tension." This is so much better, except I hate for anybody leave at the end of each episode because they're all so nice.

(10,128 posts)And compared to the baking shows here....no competition. That show makes the Food channel versions look like fallen soufflé.

(2,191 posts)The Amy Poehler/Nick Offerman summer show, "Making It," is quite the homage to the Great British Bakeoff/Baking Show, even down to contestants walking up to a kind of tent-looking structure to make things.

(405 posts)Even watching the US vs British version of Restaurant Nightmares. Gordon Ramsay hosts both shows, but in the British one he is a nice helpful person, in the FOX US version he is a mean yelling SOB.

(15,412 posts)I think there are 8 seasons. Only 4 have been on TV here. Paul sort of plays the bad guy. (I loved the season with the woman who gave him shit.) I've not seen the new show (Paul went to commercial TV but none of the others went with him.)
