Looking towards the edge, where there is greater distortion, I clearly see curved and zigzag lines alternating. Looking at the zigzag lines through the center of the lens, where vision should be clearest, they look curved.

Apparently, a little low-fidelity in vision is a good thing.

...but in my peripheral vision, the ones to the right and left look like sharp angles. Then when I switch to the one on the right or the one on the left, it takes a second to resolve to a curve.
