Of course I have no sympathy for him, but I do hope nothing happens to his family.

(4,533 posts)The prosecutor speaking at the announcement was Andrew Weissmann, previously criticized for threatening to prosecute family members to force confessions. I bet he said he would go after his wife, who signed their tax returns. The daughters got money and at least one told her sister about her dads horrific acts. Did she knowingly take dirty money?
As soon as. I heard his lawyer say to keep his family safe I thought: Weissmann.
Prosecutors are often monsters, cold, cruel. Don Jr, Ivanka, Eric should be afraid. Very very afraid.

(4,533 posts)I may have given you the wrong impression. This matter is so serious, the possibility of a President captured by a foreign power, that I support cold heartless viscious methods to force the truth out of Manafort. In other cases not so severe, such as Enron when Weissman played the wife prosecution card, I would give common decency more respect. Not here. Unleash Weissman!
And i did not mean to imply Weissman would pressure Don Jr and Ivanka etc to sweat out Trump. I meant that Manafort May know things proving the kids broke laws.

(4,533 posts)I favor anything short of torture to force truth from Manafort because this matter is so important. But I tend to sympathize with a wife under the thumb of a domineering criminal husband.
God knows she suffered heavily. Their daughter said Manafort made her have sex with multiple men at the same time and got angry at her for not enjoying it. Their daughter said she did that because she felt he would divorce her otherwise. I just want to give her a break.

They've been married for 40 years.
On Tuesday, Paul Manafort was found guilty on eight financial charges in the special counsels investigation into President Trumps associates. The charges include five counts of filing false tax returns, failing to report foreign bank accounts, and bank fraud. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on foreign bank account charges, and remaining bank fraud and conspiracy counts.
If you remember, Manafort was Trumps former campaign chairman but just like everyone else recently who associates with the president, they seemingly tend to go down in flames. Such is the case for Manafort, but we cant help but wonder about his personal life.
Criminals often have a pretty normal family life, so who is Paul Manaforts wife? Here are 6 things to know about Kathleen Manafort and their relationship.
