but I changed my accent to be more standard later. My sister has an accent that causes her to pronounce the name "Karen" as "Keeran". It's something Southern as she has lived in Kentucky and Atlanta.

But I generally pronounce 'berry' (as in the fruit) to rhyme with merry (as in Christmas)

Sometimes I pronounce it more like Barry.

This opens up the Mary/marry/merry debate again.
