In 2012 I was visiting my dad in the hospital. His room-mate and I struck up a conversation, he told me he wrote two famous songs for a very well-known artist (one of which is one of my favorites of all time - like number one on my playlist favorite). I was like - "yeah, right". His wife came in and confirmed it. Then he went on to tell me some other stuff he did, musically.
All these years later, I stumble on upon an article which talked about the song and the writers, and there was his name (although I wasn't really sure that was his name - I just remembered the first and last letters of his last name), but the picture was him. I clicked on his bio and there was the town he told me he was going to, along with some other stuff that he had mentioned.
What this guy didn't tell me was that he was the lead singer/songwriter of a pretty well-known band from the early 90s (with two of their own songs I have committed to my memory).
I'm kind of glad I didn't know who he was, since I probably would have acted like an idiot, lol. But this strikes me funny now.
Super nice guy.

(11,862 posts)I was 10 when my mom had an operation, back then..not sure the age which you could visit, but I was too young.
My father had a 'brilliant' idea.
He messed around in my mothers belongings, and came up with a black dress, a black straw hat the looked like a flying saucer, high heels, and I was good to go!
I pranced through the lobby, into the elevator, into which a few lobby people joined us, and seemed to 'lust' after me! ( I know cause they stared so intently!)
We finally found our way into my mother's room.
She declared she thought my father had brought a strange woman to visit her.
I believed every bit of everything, and walked out of that hospital with my hatted head held high!!!
