The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsWho in your life do you *unequivocably* admire? My response to myself
From my Democratic family it was, of course, FDR/Eleanor/Harry. After that, on my own, the ones who have had feet of clay, it was Woodrow WILSON and LBJ (never really JFK) . And my long line of "losers" (not really) : CARTER, MONDALE, DUKAKIS, GORE, and on and on. (I've got calluses.)
Anyway, in these revisionist Times, all my heroes have been exposed - to OTHERS, not losing their status WITH ME - as being flawed (think: Andrew JACKSON ) .
So anyway, this evening, asking myself who I could *UNEQUIVOCABLY* say I admire, what I came up with was:
Now, I hope nobody of the Know-It-Alls here will CRUSH me by telling me that WATTERSON is some kind of *weirdo*. Better not. Thank you.
I'm thinking of ordering the complete C&H, paperback version. O.K., my Loungeteers, insert here your crushing-my-dreams evaluations.

(3,275 posts)There are many amazing people throughout history that I admire. Unfortunately, I'm really tired so I can barely remember my own name at the moment.
