It was all the rage, so maybe it was supposed to be more scary??? It was on late at night, so maybe that is a clue. Some of my friends would dash home to watch it.

I find Twilight Zone to be human nature based.

seemed on par with Twilight Zone. But the series never matched the promise of the pilot.

The Dead Man

I can't find a direct link to the episode but it is mentioned in several "Best Night Gallery" videos on Youtube.

Creeped me out, seriously.

Godfrey Cambridge. He was a popular comedian back in the late '60s for a few years. Made appearances on all the variety shows of the day. His episode of Night Gallery is the one that sticks with me... although I just thought about the dog food one. I guess the theme of that episode would be, "To Serve Dog."
