Advice on smart phone purchase thru Metro PCS

I have had 3 LG smart phones over the last 4 yrs. I am very unhappy with this brands quality. Samsung Galaxy J7 has good reviews. Any recs here. I need & want texting & internet access & battery life. Samsung Galaxy S is way too costly for me.

New 5G phones should be available around April of 2019, obsoleting 4G phones.

I have no landline & an 84 yr old mom w/ acute congestive heart failure. I have to have phone access.

I tried one and I just do not have the time or desire to spend my life on a piece of hardware.
