My Mother-in-law was known for making this for every family occasion. The first time I tried it, it was like gold on my tongue. She shared her recipe and we've carried it down through the family. If anyone dares to use Spanish saffron (blasphemy) rather than Italian, you can be sure it'll be noticed!
