"Go to bed already"

That's what goes through my mind every Thursday night.

My guy is a truck driver. He works 3 days/week (Tues/Wed/Thur) but often puts in nearly 40 hours in those 3 days and he often has to be on the road by 5 am.

I can certainly understand that he needs to unwind after his work week, and I have no problem w/ that. In fact, I encourage it. He should go out and be w/ friends, and maybe have a drink or two. He should have a good time and unwind.

I also think that if he's been awake since 3 am--and if he doesn't want to sleep his Friday away--then he should plan accordingly.

Week after week he's out until the wee hours and then he comes home, makes a snack and falls asleep in the chair. He comes to bed as the sun comes up and then sleeps until noon or so. Then he'll complain about how overwhelmed he is with all that needs to be done and how he slept his day away. To make matters worse, I tip-toe around him every Friday so as not to wake him up. Which means I'm not getting done the things I want to get done.

I'm not his mother and I don't want to be a nag.

What I would like is for him to feel good about his time off. I'd like for him to have a healthy amount of sleep.

On the selfish-front, I'd like to roll over and know that he's next to me.
