(1,474 posts)Perhaps they don't want to remain lost for hours while the man pretends to not need directions? This is my experience anyway, being a man.

(15,303 posts)And me (male) with my imbued sense of direction is around 60% right.
We've been in some very interesting places trusting the GPS but it has been generally correct. Best example is yesterday coming back from Portland ME to Northern VT when we were told to get off the major road and take several side ones before getting back on the highway. The accident blocked our normal lanes for several hours.
Still, wouldn't Moses just have needed to follow his star maps without needing GPS or even a compass?

(25,183 posts)I don't want to look stupid to another person. Thank goodness for GPS!
Also, I don't return stuff, unless there was a reason that was unknowable to me at the time of purchase. I don't want to look like a fool who bought something he didn't need, or was too stupid to see an obvious defect. She can't understand that.

I have no qualms returning.
Grocery store double your $$ guarantee on meat, produce. Their brands offer refund and then get another brand replacement.
And you can bet shoe leather roasts and such go back!
I don't mind paying high prices for quality.
I'm an El Exigente of food. I rule the roost! 😆

We are currently flying at 36,000 feet and will be making a
routine momentary quick descent to about 50 feet.
If you look out to the left you will notice some pretty lewd grafitii on
the water tower

(36,827 posts)It wasn't that long ago that virtually every pilot carried an E6B which is essentially an aviation slide rule used for point-to-point navigation calculations. They were even used during the Star Trek missions.
