My kid will have to become an emancipated minor and we'll all fight for custody of the books.

5. It was for the best. Can't imagine the feisty Betty Davis ever opting to stay young and dumb.

8. Those eyes - the daughter got them

I just saw this interview with B.D. HYMAN on YouTube and when she would turn her head to answer questions from the audience (I think in Part 2), with her right side of the face to the camera, there were THOSE eyes, not noticeable that much from other angles.

Her beef boiled down to her claim that Bette wanted her and all other family just for herself, that their relationship was fairly good until the daughter got married whereupon Bette wanted to destroy the marriage, that Bette had done that to a sister of hers before. In googling for this, there was another news or gossip item saying that the son-in-law's business had failed and they asked for money from Bette and didn't get much, after which the daughter wrote the book and was disinherited. The HYMANs are still married after 50 years and the daughter is a minister, with a separate news item where she claims Bette "practiced witchcraft." Coincidence that she goes by "B.D. (Bette DAVIS?) HYMAN?!1

Anyway, the EYES:

The divorce was granted because there was little to no communication between them.
