Even his PF band mates realized this. Barrett's enduring musical legacy is is a reflection of his uniquely tortured genius. Many are under the impression that his creativity ceased once he departed Floyd, but he went on to complete two fine solo albums (The Madcap Laughs and Barrett) with a third (Opel) complied and released a few years back.

to Syd. Roger Waters once said Peter Gabriel was Genesis's Syd Barrett.
