It's not his fault he's that way, someone just is stupid, sorry to say.

My old dog lived for food, he was stealing the other cats & dogs food and got fat. We had to feed the dogs separately and put up baby gates for the cat areas and it was a pain, especially at first trying to get them used to this. But they adjusted and he lost 20 lbs. (he was huge, half Catahoula half Siberian Husky) and our other dog, Astro, gained back 10 lbs. to reach his proper weight as well and neither of the dogs was eating cat food. Win/win/win.
