On July 11, 2018, my grandson was delivered via caesarean section.

Premature, he weighed 1 lb, 12 oz.

Yesterday, January 25, he was released and went home with mom and dad.

Nearly 10 lb now, he has a lot of chores to catch up on.

Yay Nate!

Wow, he was very premature. He was there in the hospital for six months! It's miraculous and a credit to modern science that he is now home and doing this well.

I am so happy for all of you!

My best wishes for a happy future for Nate.

Delivered C-section because my son was in a breach position.
He was about 3 and a half pounds and his sister about three.
I remember the doctor looking at the prenatal images--he looked at me
and asked how tall I was. 6'2" I said. Well, he'll never be that big.
He is now in the Coast Guard, 6'3" and about 210 lbs--all muscle.
Premies catch up quick.
Watching the C-section was incredible--TMC in Tucson.
Congrats Gramps!! Yay Nate!

been a trying time for you and the parents! Over the months we **sorta** got used to the daily dramas of the NICU but friends would visit us and be agast at all the warning beeps and bells and medical tech.

Our boys were also 1lb 12oz. You could hold both in one hand. My wedding ring could slip easily up their tiny arms. Now, twenty five years later they are strapping young men over six feet tall. We were lucky, the staff told us. Boys don't usually fare as well as girls (they are later to develop in utero. (Figures!)

And of course the entire NICU staff were lifesaving angels.

Enjoy Nate!

The baby is doing great and getting bigger every day.

I talked to a doctor buddy of mine and he says not to worry - they’ve got this down to a science. Literally.

Thank god for good insurance. I can only imagine the bill for 4 months in the NICU. Is it over $1 million?
