...except when we eat. Their eyes change and become so hopeful as they look at you, and then suffering as they follow the fork from the plate to our mouths and then back to the plate and over and over again.

I always feel guilty!

Dogs and cats are terrific ego boosters, too. Unconditional love in any circumstance. Happy just for a little attention. We have had some wonderful dogs and cats. Great companions, full of love.

11. We lost our cat

Dec. 8th. I still look for her, then suddenly remember she is gone. Gone, but NEVER forgotten. She was old, frail and not eating. Had to put her down, rather than let her suffer. Beautiful little girl.

What a terrible loss. I was nursing my old border collie through pancreatitis and pancreatic abscess surgery over the holidays. I was worthless while that was going on. I’m sorry you are going through this.

I’m happy for him that he was surrounded by love and so sad for you all....how hard that must have been. I’m just very sorry. I’ve never had a pet pass at home.
