"Alcoholics Anonymous" group and Facebook

Noticed that there was an "Alcoholics Anonymous" group on Facebook, not associated with the official AA organization.

It is a public group with no privacy settings.

One of my Facebook friends on my feed just posted a "Hi, I'm an Alcoholic...." message with some rather personal details.

Because the settings are public, his post got reposted to my feed and presumably the feeds of all his other friends.

Pretty sad that whoever created that page didn't bother to make it private. It's full of clearly non-anonymous confessions from people on Facebook.

If someone is an alcoholic and has an interest in AA, I would focus solely on actual in-person meetings and not consider a sham Facebook knock off.

It's just sad.
