My brother turned me on the the Armadillo album when I was 19. It was like a lifelong curtain had been lifted from my musical consciousness.

at one of the coffeehouses near the University of Minnesota. He was pretty well-known in the area even then.

He was tuning his 12-string on stage, there were a few requests being hollered from the crowd, and I yelled out "Living In The Country." He smiled, and was nice enough to play it for us. My favorite album of his is the live performance "My Feet Are Smiling." Amazing stuff.

Been a fan of Leo since the early 70s.

Got to see him in 78.

Here he is with a couple other guitar players, well, masters, just hanging around in a hotel lobby:

Three masters of different styles blending in with each other.

Leo has done that on various occasions, notably with Michael Hedges. His recordings with slide/pedal steel guitarist Cal Hand (especially "Ice Water" and "Dreams And All That Stuff" ) are also the stuff of legend.

I first saw him when he was 27. He is now 74, and is still brilliant.
