You are President. To whom do you award the Presidential Medal of Freedom?r

Here's a link to recipients to date: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Presidential_Medal_of_Freedom_recipients. It's daunting.

Here's my top five, and I promise to name 25 more when I am President:

George Ball, Diplomat (posthumous). He was a voice in the wilderness against the Vietnam War, and was a great analyst about WWII. An underrated figure in American history, and a person who deserves this without question. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Ball_(diplomat)

Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens, Music). In 1971, I had the biggest crush of my life. Well, that didn't work out, but his music will last forever. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat_Stevens

Berry Gordy, Business and Economics. I must have reviewed this more than five times, and didn't find him. SAY WHAT?? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berry_Gordy

Ron Chernow, History. An easy choice, a beautiful and meticulous writer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Chernow

George McGovern. My first Presidential vote, and still my best. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_McGovern
