I considered Kovacs' show the TV equivalent of Mad Magazine.

My irrational thing was Daffy Duck turning into a snarling monster - Looney Tunes short.

They were called "The Nairobi Trio" and there's lots of video on youtube.

I was just a kid, but thought it was innovative how Kovacs would pretend to smoke a cigar underwater, by spitting out a bunch of milk.

Frank Sanrtra manned the mallets one time. The skits were simple enough for any one of Kovacs's friends and associates to step into the drummer's role without needing a rehearsal, and 'One take' Frank famously didn't do rehearsals.
