Shes been diagnosed with cancer. Not sure how long the quality of her life will continue, but so far, shes doing ok since shes still jumping, purring, eating, pooping and peeing. The Vet gave her a steroid and antibiotic injection and let me know what to watch for, that will indicate its time to let her go. As soon as I see any sign, I'll take her back in, because I've seen enough cancer related suffering to last a lifetime.
Boud was a rescue and we figure shes going on 14 years of age. The circumstances she was living in were beyond horrible so she's had a good life in a comfortable, loving home. She's territorial, not overly snuggly, but loves to be scritched and REALLY loves her treats. Once she stops getting excited at the sound of the treat jar being opened, I'll know it's time. Im preparing myself for, maybe, another month. Ive already picked out her grave site - beneath the apple tree, in the backyard.

(23,691 posts)You have obviously done this with your Dear Bouddica. When it's time for her to cross the bridge, she will go having lived the loving life you gave her.
I am so sorry you will be losing such a beautiful girl. May she go peacefully and may your heart be at peace.
