Pome #2: Why I couldn't take this woman

"Take" not in the sense of "raptor"
rather in the sense of "tolerate"
an auditory complaint

on *her* part, I hasten to say:
My various orifices apparently
too loud farts, sneezes, coughs.

All not ladylike for her
and did I mention I am not
a lady?!1

Yea, grew up with Da in
the Ladies's House -
queen mother and 2 sisters

Everybody older so I'm powerless.
The ladies had lady friends
meaning monthly lunches.

And Da and I had to get out
not knowing where to go
and only eat the leftovers.

Da was orphaned at thirteen
and his older siblings never fathered
so he didn't know and he couldn't teach me.

So the Navy took up the basics
tools, labor, sewing on a button,
sharing space and the drinking fun after.

And now I'm old and nobody
wants to learn what I've learned
that means and don't means nothing.
