There is something so satisfying about the first lawn mow, of the season

I don't know if it is being out in the warm sunshine, the wonderful aroma a fresh cut grass, or just the feeling of accomplishment, but I love the first mow. Had I waited another day, or two, my mower might not have been able to handle it. Most of the other neighbor's lawns look just fine, but when my lawn starts to wake up, it doesn't mess around.

Now it's time for a nice cold bottle of scrumpy and I'll take the rest of the day off.

If things stay relatively dry, I'm planning on another mow, by Friday.

I can't even THINK about the back lot because there's still standing water!

Did mine on Wednesday (maybe it was Thursday?) and that grass was deep! I even spotted a snake while moving sticks and debris. I was feeling very accomplished all weekend.
Now it already needs cut again.

I don't enjoy doing the trim work, with the push mower, but once I'm on that rider, I don't mind the chore.
