Just saw "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1412386/

Description:
British retirees travel to India to take up residence in what they believe is a newly restored hotel. Less luxurious than its advertisements, the Marigold Hotel nevertheless slowly begins to charm in unexpected ways.

What a great film! If you like Tom Wilkinson, Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, and Maggie Smith, you must see this movie.

I was thinking about seeing it. Have traveled to India in the past so I can really see the premise. And with Maggie and Judy, you can't go wrong.

thought is was very formulaic and everything that would happen was telegraphed.
Great acting for sure.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/24/movies/older-faces-on-screen-draw-an-overlooked-crowd.html

“It’s supply and demand,” said Doug Stone, the company’s president. “There’s just very little out there that appeals to older people. It’s not like they’re going to rush out to see ‘Chernobyl Diaries.’ ” . . .

'Hollywood is also starting to realize that the first of 78 million baby boomers are hitting retirement age with some entertainment time to fill and a love affair with movies. So while movie marketers stand on their heads trying to spark positive chatter for films on social networks and blogs, they are also increasingly thinking about word of mouth among retirees, at least for certain films.'

ABOUT TIME!!!

We saw a trailer for the Bill Murray movie where he plays FDR. It's called "Hyde Park on Hudson." Looks fantastic.

We're lucky to have three of them here in Minneapolis. It's still in the theater, so I don't think it's been release on DVD yet.
