(29 posts)I think it will be a nice looking clock if the size is maybe half smaller than the above picture.

(1,622 posts)...but I certainly wouldn't describe it as "ludicrous", even though I'd like it better if the "time" lettering wasn't there...

(10,749 posts)The size, and the Time logo.
On the plus side, it probably cost a fortune.

(43,049 posts)It's a campy artwork, with the "TIME" logo pointing out how silly it is.
No one notices the extremely uncomfortable seating (good only for passing out on) or the ridiculous reflection of the room and video of a fire in the fireplace?

What do you find ludicrous about it?

(22,897 posts)In fact, I never did find anything I liked when I googled "wall clocks"-- everything was so outlandish.
I don't mind unusual, mind you, but it would be nice to have variety-- not just this type of "clock."
Also women's shoes have become outlandish, as have comforters and reading lamps. It's weird. IMO.

(58,349 posts)There is a lot of oddness in current designs. I will agree on that. Not the type of ugly artlessness of the 80s and early 90s, but we've left the sensible and elegant design era of the late 90s and 00s, and returned to a lot of design options that are going to date themselves very quickly and age very badly.

(25,183 posts)it could come in handy! Right now, I have to squint at the clock on the electric range to figure out what time it is in the kitchen/dining room.

(31,390 posts)unique wall clocks that could also be considered art for your walls. Or Wayfair for zillions of wall clock options.
I have a wall clock I got on artful home about 10 years ago. Still love it. Had to replace the mechanism in it recently, but it only cost $35. Hope it lasts another 10 years. Only change 1 AA battery about once/year.
