The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsFor years my go-to pizza crust was thin, baked on a stone. Last Friday I made a Detroit style crust.
😋I need an intervention!

(23,988 posts)I prefer a thicker crust, but I don't like deep dish pizza - it's a big grease bomb, IMO.
There was a take out place near us several years ago, now sadly gone, that had a crust option that they called "extra-thick thin crust." It was just right.

(46,045 posts)Mine is okay but always thicker than I'd like. Sometimes it's been resting in the fridge for an entire day, so it can't be that the gluten needs time to relax.

(12,132 posts)That's why they do that. This is how we did at every pizza joint I ever worked at:

(12,132 posts)and it's what I did mostly because I'm a klutz that kept putting my hand though the dough - but some of my co-worker were damn Meadowlark Lemons with that shit. You be watching them and start whistling Sweet Georgia Brown without even knowing it.

(46,045 posts)I always picture pizza crusts all over my floor, but I guess I'd better get more adventurous.

The crust will be even more crispy than when you first cooked it and yummy!!... and you can even create that charred look like the stone oven baked pizzas. I learned that tip from TED on the original Queer Eye. Thats the only way our family will ever eat left over pizza. Now i want some left over skillet heated pizza.

(17,622 posts)...pour honey on your pizza bones for dessert! Village Pizza serves a jar of honey at each table. Wow what a treat. When I visited friends in Denmark, I got the entire pizzeria hooked on the honey bones!
