I have a mystery regarding my IPhone. Any experts out there that can answer my question?

I received a call yesterday from a friend of mine. A picture of she and I showed up when the phone was ringing. I never saw that picture before and it is not in my cell phone anywhere. I checked twice and had my husband check just in case I overlooked it. Like I said, I never saw that picture before.

I asked my IT man and he thought maybe it could have come in from my social media posts. I don't do social media. I purposely have been boycotting Facebook forever. And even if that was so, I would have to go through the steps to have that particular picture attached to that particular phone number.

Its an IPhone 6S. Can anyone out there solve this mystery for me?

Thanks

If you use gmail (or similar) it may have automatically imported it to your phonebook.

picture for me. We are not great friends and don't speak often on the phone. I even checked my photos on my computer, even though I know it has to come from my phone, and that picture isn't there. I also never use my phone for email, just my computer. I'm kind of old fashion and not IT savvy at all.

I'm still confused.

Thanks for your efforts.

but since your phone tends to synch with aps and even computer websites that you visit (like Facebook and your contact list, either in your phone or email programs) it may have automatically pulled it from wherever she may had posted that photo in the past.

one of each of you put together? If it's two put together, are they head shots or more than head shots?

I'm asking because phone cameras are accessible from apps or google or many sources most people are not aware of. It's not difficult for phone cams to be accessed when we don't know it. There are a lot of data miners out there including phone makers, browsers.. you name it. I keep a small piece of tape on my selfie cam unless needed.
