(4,166 posts)I believe that my Mother learned the from her Mother. Mom told me when I was very very young that a dragon fly could sew your mouth closed.
I agree it's a horrible thing to tell a child, but I guess that is what I remember. Now I know that the dragon flies are attracted by milk weed. That explains a lot!!

I always feel lucky when I see them.
