WTF! Business must be good! This morning I called two contractors about bidding on some work

I want done on my house. Some inside, some outside. They both said to send them photos of the areas needing attention and they would let me know if they are interested.

Both claim on their websites to specialize in the work I want done.

1. I've left messages at several contractor companies days ago and have yet to hear back from them.

been slowing since last fall. These suckers are finally getting Hungry. Our handy dude says the field is getting crowded with Guy's and Gal's looking for work. If you follow the DIY ads,building material and other items are on the sale bills every week.

3. once contractors waited for your call. now you have to sit around all day waiting for theirs.

once they showed up to do the work. now they have a "truck charge" to show. I told em leave the truck at home and they laughed.

4. Contractors talk to each other about certain customers

5. I found the contractor I want to build the addition onto my house

The work needs to start next winter but I wanted to get a contract nailed down before we leave for the UK. The contractor had trouble getting time to call me back and finally told me he is buried in projects that are starting this month. He promised to put me on his schedule for next winter but he will not have time to even give me a bid until I get back in November!

Of course, a lot of builders in this area are doing a lot of building - both new and reconstruction - over in the Panama City area. There are still not enough places there for people to live so construction workers are driving 90 miles from Tallahassee to work on projects in Bay County.
