She had been failing badly for the last 3 months or so. She hadn't been able to eat for almost a week and it is really a blessing she is out of her misery now. Her mother passed away when she was 6 years old she only completed the 6th grade then went to work doing housework for her room and board until she married my dad at 21. She loved FDR and was a staunch Democrat all her life.

(22,434 posts)Sorry she had so much suffering.
The only thing good about suffering is that it makes
it easier for someone to let go.

(35,338 posts)and WWII were tough. She had a hard life growing up with no mother a drunken father and 4 useless brothers.
My dad died 23 years ago and my mother had been near death several times and always pulled through. I guess old
age finally took its toll.

(9,385 posts)I am very bad at words of comfort, but wish I could say something that could make you feel a little better -- that's just impossible though. It's so very hard losing someone close to you. And the world is surely a colder place when an FDR dem passes. Your mom sounds like pure gold.

(4,886 posts)Please take care of yourself.
When my mom passed I just couldnt eat, worked 12-14 hours a day.
The only thing I was eating was Hagen daze ice cream and smoked cigs.
Not the best for diet grieving
I got VERY sick, I had pneumonia so bad I was in the hospital for 10 days.
I was told if I had waited a day or 2 I wouldnt have pulled through...
I lost 589 for my plane ticket (United)
I just ran across the ticket the other day.
I missed my moms funeral...
So PLEASE remember to take care of yourself.
