12. OK I found a rule that says not use "hate or extremist sites" as references...

But I didn't use the site as a reference, and I explained in a manner consistent with DU's mission why I was mentioning the site at all. Liberty News Forum is not what I'd call a hate or extremist site, anyway. It just has hard core conservatives who consistently skew the threads... we need some DU-ers to counterbalance all the RW bullshit. And I'm pretty sure posters there have been invited in from other conservative sites to skew the polls and discussions.

For example, half the votes there in an anonymoous poll are in favor of banning Muslims from holding elected office. Really?

9. I lasted less than 3 minutes

Saw a discussion about how skewed the polls are and that Trump would probably win 6-8 more states this time than 2016 (including Maryland because they all hate Baltimore). One post agreeing with this pointed out that Hillary was ahead by 18 points in the polls the day before the election. I guess that was right before FOX showed Jesus coming down from heaven and personally anointing Trump with orange oil.

But I repeat that while DU is a great place to get information and chat with people of like mind... the real battle is out on the rest of the internet where these right wing nut jobs ply their misinformation without contradiction. We need to do all we can to counter their lies, and that includes visiting their lairs and educating them about the facts. Let's not let them spread their lies without a fight!

PS-I checked the DU rules and see nothing that doesn't allow for such an appeal. If I'm wrong, please let me know!
